Falling behind on your mortgage

Selling Your Home While in Foreclosure

Are you 30 days out from losing your home? If you are a homeowner in the Pensacola area and you have received the Final Judgment, there is still hope.

Yes you can still sell your home after receiving the Final Judgment.

Most people are in one of two positions.

  1. They can sell the home and have enough equity to pay off the loan and their closing costs.
  2. The value of the home is not high enough to pay off the loan and other costs.

In either situation the foreclosure still needs to be postponed. How do you get the foreclosure postponed?

  1. Immediately put the home for sale with a Realtor who specializes in saving homeowners from foreclosure.
  2. Authorize your Realtor to speak to your lender.
  3. Contact your lender and tell them you are selling your home.
  4. Your Realtor will also contact the lender to tell them the home is for sale and ask for a postponement
  5. Get a purchase contract as soon as possible.
  6. Then your Realtor can submit the contract and other documents to your lender.

Other things that can be done is to notify the civil court and foreclosure attorney about the purchase contract and your attempt to sell as an alternative to foreclosure.
